What is LEED® certification for properties?
In this scenario LEED stands for “Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design” and is used internationally. The main goal of LEED is to reduce the amount of carbon emissions created by buildings.
LEED helps all business types become environmentally friendly. While also reducing the cost of building. LEED is a third-party verification process and completed with a certificate.
There are six areas that the LEED certification focuses on:
- Location and transportation
- Water savings
- Energy efficient
- Sustainable site development
- Materials &
- Indoor air quality
LEED is run on a point system with properties either earning Silver, Certified or Platinum.
